January 2021 and already this year has been hard on us all, both mentally and physically. We all know that doing some form of movement is an easy way to boost both your mental and physical health. Although we sometimes struggle with the motivation to do what we need to do. Free workout included.... We are all sitting more, working from home, our bodies are screaming out to move.!
More of us are beginning to suffer from neck, back and hip pain. How can Pilates help you? Pilates is about strengthening the centre muscles, lengthen the spine, building muscle tone and increasing body awareness and flexibility. Let me explain..... Less back pain: Most back pain results from poor posture and a sedentary lifestyle. Pilates addresses the muscle imbalances that most typically contribute to back pain, our weak abdominals and bum muscles. Pilates also stretches out the tight and overworked back muscles. Correct alignment is the main factor that helps to alleviate back pain. If you do Pilates carefully, you’ll understand how to use your body in ways that protect your back from injury. More flexibility: Pilates exercises lengthen the muscles and the joints while they strengthen the body. If you have found that your spine has lost some of its range of motion and flexibility, Pilates very quickly corrects this problem. More body awareness: If nothing else, doing Pilates should give you a new awareness of your body. You may never have thought about connecting to your centre muscles, sitting up tall on both sit bones or keeping your shoulder down away from your ears. You may never have thought a lot about how you breathe. The things you learn in Pilates will soon start to filter into your every day life. Iv added a free balanced pilates workout for you to do its only 25 minutes, so you can easily slip it into your day. I hope you enjoy. If you think the workout will help someone else you know then please feel free to share it with them too. The more people we can safely get moving the better! Stay Safe - Emma x
