Do you ever find yourself wishing for a bit of time outdoors for some fresh air when the pressures of daily life start to take its toll?

If so, you’re not alone....

We have just come back from an amazing few days in the lake district, Spending time outdoors not only brings a change of scenery to our lives, but it can have a really big impact on our health too.

If we regularly spending time in outdoor spaces it can help to:
  • Reduce anxiety, stress, and depression
  • Support healthy aging and healing
  • Boost your immune health and brain function
  • Improve personal relationships, creativity, and overall well-being
With these health benefits in mind, our mission has to be to try and spend more time in nature!

Spend a Little Time Outside Each Day

Making time to experience nature is such a beautiful way to care for our health and enjoy the benefits that come with it.

We should try to do our best to get outside each day to soak up some natural light, even if just for a few minutes.

Getting outside and enjoying nature has also proven to alleviate stress and improve several aspects of our health.

Let me share some things I like to do when i'm outdoors...

  • Grounding.
The act of walking barefoot or sitting on the ground outdoors, this can have a positive impact on our health, especially my mental health as the Earth’s electrons can transfer to our bodies, improving sleep and reducing pain.

  • Take your Pilates|Yoga routine outdoors.
If you haven’t tried it yet, consider rolling out your mat outside where you have room to stretch and breathe in some fresh air.

I promise it will make your workout feel even more energising.

  • Add some outdoor time to your morning routine
Even five minutes outside can be beneficial to your health. First thing in the morning, I enjoy going outside to enjoy a big glass of water or herbal tea followed by some deep breathing to get me set up for my day.

Remember there are lots of ways to get outside and spend time in nature.
Whatever you choose, try to make it something you enjoy and that brings you happiness and peace!

  • Start with a Small goal
Why not set yourself a goal to get outdoors more, starting with one or two days a week.
Try to increase the time you spend outdoors little by little, and see how good you feel as a result!

How will you spend more time outdoors this month?
